Don David Wiley is a teacher, elder, and one of the founders of the Sacred Fire community. He is well-known in traditional circles as one who lends his body as a traditional human vessel to be the “god-speaker man” (axihuatakame or teotlixipla) for Grandfather Fire. He is a healer, ceremonialist, and ritual leader in two ancestrally related indigenous traditions from Mexico—the Wixárika mara’akame path and the quiapaquiz path of Nahuatl weather working and a Tepahtiani or healer in that tradition. He has devoted his life to fulfilling the task given to him by the Spirit of Fire, “Reach out to the people of your modern world and provide help while teaching how to live life more aligned with Spirit and the nature of the world through awareness, connection, and engagement.”. He is considered an initiated elder in these two traditions as a tsaurixika in the Huichol path and a temachtian or teacher in the Nahua tradition along with being a tlamatinime, or knower of the Nahua ways. He performs baptisms for the children, initiation of young men into adulthood, and funerary work for those who have passed.

Anna-Lena Hilton has devoted more than 25 years to serving both her local and wider community as an initiated Marakame in the Wixarika tradition. She practices traditional healing passed down through generations since time immemorial. Each year she leads pilgrimages to sacred sites in the United States offering pilgrims the opportunity to receive the help they need to live meaningful and connected lives. She serves as a Firekeeper within the Sacred Fire community , tending to those who seek to benefit from a deeper relationship with the medicine of sacred fire and the warmth of community. Her purpose is simple, yet profound, to help guide people to the healing, wisdom and generosity continually available to humanity by the living world around us through an authentic, living tradition.

Alison has dedicated her life to service. Initiated as a granicera (Weather Shaman) and healer in the Nahua tradition indigenous to Central Mexico, and as an Elder Teacher and Practitioner of Plant Spirit Medicine, she has offered healing work, ceremony, counsel, and teaching for the past 25 years. Helping people connect with nature and their true selves has long been a passion of hers. Whether it is sitting around the fire, as a Sacred Fire Firekeeper, conducting a ceremony, or engaging in deep conversation, Alison recognizes the divinity in all, giving her the ability to help others find that in themselves.
